During our recent escape to Matera, we had the pleasure of staying at Masseria Torre Spagnola, and it truly was a highlight of our trip! Nestled in a charming 16th-century building, the property boasts stunning views of the rolling countryside, which made for the perfect backdrop to our getaway. Our spacious room featured a lovely patio and air conditioning for those warm Italian afternoons, providing us with a cozy and peaceful retreat after a day of exploring. Speaking of exploring, it was only a short 15-minute drive to the UNESCO-listed Sassi di Matera – an absolute must-visit! We also appreciated the attentive hospitality from Beatrice and her family, who made us feel right at home. Breakfast was a delightful affair, with a spread of local produce that set us up nicely for the day. And as a dog lover, I have to mention that their pet-friendly policy means our furry friends could enjoy the experience with us. I can’t wait to return to this hidden gem!
